Full-Day Learning for 4 and 5-Year Old Kids to Begin in Ontario, Canada
Ontario will start phasing in full-day learning for four- and five-year-olds next fall as part of the province's plan to build a well-educated workforce. Up to 35,000 kindergarten students across Ontario are expected to be enrolled in full-day learning by September, 2010. Ontario will be the only place in North America to offer full-day learning for all four and five-year olds.
Presented by Dr. Charles Pascal in his report earlier this year, the report contains a number of recommendations on how to improve education for children up to 12 years old. To read this report, visit: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/document/nr/09.10/bg1027.html
